Invisalign in Fort Worth, TX for adults
Many adults put off straightening because they do not want metal braces at work. Clear aligners are hard to notice in conversation, and you can take them out for meetings, meals, or photos. Treatment can address crowding, gaps, crossbites, overbites, underbites, and teeth that shifted after braces years ago.
Straight teeth also help your gums. Crowded teeth are harder to clean, and trapped plaque raises the risk of gum disease. Because our Hulen St. office has a long history in periodontal care, we check your gum health first and make sure your gums are ready for tooth movement.
Adults also tend to be very good at wearing aligners, which helps treatment stay on schedule. If you have crowns, implants, or missing teeth, we plan around them. Some movements are not possible with an implant, since it is fixed in the bone.
Clear aligners for teens
Invisalign Teen works for most of the same problems as braces. There are no brackets to break during sports, and no food rules beyond taking the aligners out to eat. Teen aligners can include small blue dots that fade with wear, which helps parents see whether the trays are being worn enough.
Success depends on wearing them. A teen who leaves aligners in a backpack will not see progress. We talk openly with families about whether aligners or another option fits a teen's habits best.

How treatment works step by step
It begins with an iTero scan. The scanner builds a detailed 3D image of your bite within a few minutes. Using that model, your dentist plans each small movement and can show you a simulation of how your teeth may shift over time.
Small tooth-colored bumps called attachments are often bonded to some teeth. They give the aligners something to grip. You switch to a new set of aligners on a schedule and visit us every several weeks so we can confirm things are on track. When treatment ends, you wear a retainer to keep your teeth in place.
- Remove aligners to eat and drink anything but water
- Brush before putting aligners back in
- Keep the case with you to avoid losing trays
- Wear your retainer as directed after treatment
Options that can shorten treatment
Some patients ask about speeding things up. Depending on your case, your dentist may suggest a weekly aligner change schedule instead of every two weeks. Certain devices that use gentle vibration or light are also designed to help aligners seat well and may allow faster changes for some people.
Not every case is a match for accelerated plans. Complex bite problems often need the standard pace to move teeth safely. We will tell you honestly whether a faster option makes sense for you.
Why in-office care beats mail-order aligners
Mail-order aligner companies often skip an in-person exam and X-rays. That means hidden problems like decay, bone loss, or gum disease can go unnoticed while teeth are being moved. Moving teeth in unhealthy bone can loosen them.
With in-office treatment, a dentist examines you, takes images, and adjusts the plan if a tooth falls behind. If an aligner does not fit or a tooth is sore, you can be seen in person. Smiles Family Dental is a Diamond-level Invisalign provider, which reflects a high volume of completed cases across our practice.
If you started treatment elsewhere and feel stuck, we are glad to take a look. We can review where your teeth are now and talk about what it would take to finish.
Ask about a complimentary consultation
Not sure if clear aligners will work for you? Ask about a complimentary consultation at our Fort Worth office. We look at your teeth and gums, take a scan when appropriate, and give you a straight answer about whether Invisalign suits your goals. If another option would serve you better, we will say so.
Bring any questions you have about timing, school or work schedules, sports, and costs. Families from Tanglewood and Westover Hills often bring a teen and a parent to the same visit so both can be checked at once. There is no pressure to start on the spot, and you leave with a written plan to think over at home.
